GB NAME SQUAD FOR WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN LATVIA – IHUK

Great Britain have named their roster for the upcoming Women’s World Championship in Riga.

The Division I Group B tournament runs from 31st March to 6th April.

GB will face Italy, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia, as well as hosts Latvia who were promoted from Division II Group A.

Five players are set to win their debut caps at the tournament – Jamie Endrizzi, Laura Horwood, Chloe Needham-Potts, Ellie Patrick and Lizzie Saunders.

Head Coach, Mike Clancy, said: “We’re excited to announce a very strong squad for the up-and-coming World Championship in Latvia.

“We welcome back a number of players playing abroad and some new faces that joined us in the Four Nations tournament.

“The depth of squad continues to strengthen year-on-year and makes selection harder and harder as we discuss the really fine margins on making our final selection.

“We’re all now looking forward to starting our pre-camp in Latvia on the 25th of March where our preparation includes being on the ice twice a day and a game against Italy.”

Reserves – Netminders: Emma Nichols (Brynas, Sweden), Kayla Poole (Solihull Vixens / Oxford). Defence: Kaitlyn Morrison (Whitley Bay Beacons), Lydia Walsh (Elmira College, USA), Madison Wright (Solihull Vixens). Forwards: Chamonix Jackson (SUNY-Canton, USA), Jessica Sprules (Solihull Vixens), Ellie Wallace (Queen Bees).
