Even if someone is ever able to match his numbers — which seems very unlikely — we will never see an NFL defender as dominant as Lawrence Taylor.
A part of that has to do with the fact that a lot of the things Taylor did back in the day aren’t allowed in today’s game.

Unsurprisingly, Taylor kept an old-school mindset about it, telling him that there was no secret behind success; it was all about hard work and effort.
As disappointing as it may sound, that’s actually true; there’s no other way to be successful.
Thibodeaux is one of the most promising and talented pass rushers in the game, and with Brian Daboll’s team revamping their defensive line ahead of the upcoming campaign, some expect him to have a bit of a breakout season.
And while chasing Taylor’s ghost is an impossible goal, especially in the Big Apple, the least he can do is live by his standards and his approach to the game.
