Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze says he’s extremely grateful for the opportunity that head coach Jamahl Mosley has rewarded him with since Wendell Carter’s left hand injury (averaging 7.7 PPG/6.8 RPG/2.0 APG/1.8 BPG/56.5% FG/72.2% FT in 17 starts).

Dante Marchitelli: “Just tell us about this opportunity that you have right now with the Magic. You didn’t know what was going to happen when you joined Orlando, but you got to play at the end of last year, I know that helped get you comfortable. And then this year, just a terrific opportunity in the starting role. I’d have to think you’re enjoying this? You’re certainly making the most of it.”
Bitadze: “Yeah, man, winning also feels really good for me. For me as a young player, not knowing when you’ve got the chance, Wendell goes down, unfortunately it’s a huge hit for the team and I’ve got to step in. I didn’t even know I was going to start, Mose was telling me that I would start the upcoming games. It’s huge for me. From not playing, to starting the games, and getting those wins and doing well. It’s amazing. It’s my 5th year, I’m still a young player, so it’s amazing for me. And also shoutout to the coaches, everybody. They see the work I put in, and when there’s a chance for them to put me in the game and trust me, they have done an amazing job. Thanks to Mose just trusting me, and I think I’m doing pretty well, so that’s amazing.”
