Grant Williams, the recent addition to the Charlotte Hornets, was a fan of the team during his upbringing in the city.
According to The Charlotte Observer’s Shane Connuck, Williams enjoyed watching Kemba Walker, who has since become a close friend and mentor to him.
In his debut game with the Hornets, Williams played a pivotal role, contributing to his new team’s first victory since January 22.
“I always thought it would be at the end of my career, but it’s kind of funny that it happened this way because it allows you to be part of something that can be built around,” Williams said.
