GrayBull’s Natural Charm Shines in the Nebraska Sandhills

GrayBull satisfies naturally in Nebraska Sandhills

No. 15 illustrates GrayBull’s natural beauty. This article is part of a series from Global Golf Post chronicling the development of GrayBull, a Dormie Network club featuring a course designed by David McLay Kidd. Kidd, known for his work in the golf course architecture, recently opened the new course in Maxwell, Nebraska. GrayBull is located in the Nebraska Sandhills, an area with unique golf terrain and stunning natural surroundings.

The writer had the opportunity to play GrayBull shortly after its opening, and was impressed by the layout and design. Kidd utilized the natural contours of the land to create a challenging yet enjoyable course. The par-72 course features varying hole lengths and directions, providing golfers with a diverse playing experience. Well-placed bunkers, fescue fairways, and challenging green complexes make GrayBull a strategic test for golfers of all skill levels.

Kidd’s design philosophy focused on working with the land to create an engaging and fun golf course. The layout includes drivable par-4s, short par-3s, and undulating greens that add excitement to the game. The course’s location on 1,800 acres of land at an elevation of 3,000 feet offers stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere for players.

GrayBull also offers luxury accommodations in 15 cottages overlooking the golf course. The clubhouse features a restaurant serving a variety of delicious dishes, from local specialties to gourmet entrees. Golfers can also enjoy amenities like a practice facility, caddie service, and a selection of fine wines and cocktails.

Overall, GrayBull provides a one-of-a-kind golf experience in a serene setting. With limited tee times and uncrowded fairways, visitors can enjoy a relaxing and memorable round of golf at this hidden gem in the Nebraska Sandhills.
