Professional tennis landed in Canada early in 2024 when the Davis Cup stopped by Montreal, but this week Ana Grubor leads a large group of Canadians at the first proper professional tournament on the calendar in Brossard, Quebec.
The first tournament of 2024 in Canada is a new one as this will be the first edition of the W15 event.
Main draw play will get underway on Tuesday while the final rounds of qualifying will also be contested.
Grubor Top Canadian in Singles

Seven Canadians are still alive in qualifying and could book their spots in the main draw on Tuesday. At least two Canadians are guaranteed to qualify as there are two all-Canadian matchups in the final round of qualifying. That also means that only five more representatives of the host nation can join the main draw.
Alice Robbe of France, ranked 231st in the world, is the top seed. She will face Bucea in the first round.
One All-Canadian Team in Doubles
Seven Canadians are competing in the doubles competition on six different teams.
There is one all-Canadian pair, that being Chulak and Clemence Mercier. They will face one of their countrywomen, Arisha Ladhani, and her American partner Lilian Poling in the first round.
