Erling Haaland Earns Premier League Player of the Month for September

Erling Haaland has been named the Player of the Month for September in the Premier League, as announced on October 10, 2025, at 06:26 AM ET. The Manchester City forward enjoyed an impressive month, scoring five goals, placing him at the top of the league’s scoring chart.
The month started positively for Haaland, who scored twice in a 3-0 win against Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium. A week later, he found the net again in a challenging match that ended in a draw against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Haaland finished September with a late brace and an assist during Manchester City’s 5-1 victory over Burnley. These performances allowed him to enter the club’s top 10 all-time leading scorers, reaching 133 goals for Pep Guardiola’s team. He also notched his 93rd Premier League goal in September and is on track to become the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, potentially surpassing Alan Shearer’s record.
This latest accolade adds to Haaland’s collection of Player of the Month awards, having previously won in August 2022, April 2023, and August 2024. He overcame contenders such as Daichi Kamada, Yankuba Minteh, Robin Roefs, Granit Xhaka, and Martín Zubimendi for this latest honor.
Haaland expressed his gratitude: “I’m really happy to win this award for a fourth time. It always means a lot, so thank you to everyone who voted for me. I also want to thank my teammates, the coaches, and all the staff — we work together as a unit.”
“September was crucial for us as a team. We played some excellent football, remained unbeaten, and secured vital wins for our supporters. I’m pleased to have contributed with goals and performances. Now we just need to keep this momentum going as we have a demanding schedule ahead after the international break, and I hope we can maintain our level and win even more matches.”
