Hannah Green secures her third title of 2024 at the BMW Ladies Championship on the LPGA Tour

Hannah Green captures third LPGA title of 2024 at BMW Ladies Champ

Hannah Green’s impressive season continues with her third victory of the year at the BMW Ladies Championship. Green, who got married in January, came into the 2024 season highly motivated. She secured her win in Singapore and claimed her sixth career LPGA title in South Korea, finishing one stroke ahead of France’s Celine Boutier.

Green sealed her wire-to-wire victory with a crucial birdie on the 17th hole and a solid par on the final hole at Seowon Valley Country Club.

Reflecting on her performance, Green said, “The putt on 17, I was very nervous. I was just very happy to see that one go in, and on the last hole, I was hoping I would have more of a tap-in but, I like to make things interesting. But yeah, just super proud of myself for hanging in there because today conditions were very tough. The wind was very swirly, and I think everyone was trying to battle the wind.”

BMW Ladies: Final leaderboard

Green ended with a 71 to finish at 19 under in a field of 78 players at the BMW Ladies Championship. Notably, World No. 1 Nelly Korda, who has six wins in 2024, missed the event due to a neck injury.

Boutier, who also performed well in China last week, showcased her talent by recording five birdies in her final seven holes and excelled in greens in regulation.

Speaking about her recent success, Boutier mentioned, “I think my long game has been really solid for a while now. I just haven’t been able to score very much, and then the last two weeks, I was able to hit a few rounds really low. So I think that’s helped me a lot.”

Green made history by becoming the first Australian since Karrie Webb in 2006 to win three times in a single season. She joins Webb and Jan Stephenson as the only Australians to achieve this milestone in tour history.
