Hawks High on Donovan Clingan as Potential Draft Pick

Zaccharie Risacher, Alex Sarr, Donovan Clingan Receive Green Room Invites For Draft

Dan Hurley recently did an interview discussing his decision to turn down the Los Angeles Lakers head coaching job, but in the process, he shared some insights on the 2024 NBA Draft.

When asked about seeking advice on making the jump to the NBA, the UConn coach mentioned a long list of people he consulted. One of them was Atlanta Hawks coach Quin Snyder.

“Quin Snyder is a really smart guy who, I know that they (the Atlanta Hawks) really like Donovan (Clingan), so I was able to kind of talk to them about Donovan, but then also to pick his brain in large part,” Hurley explained.

The Hawks currently have the first overall pick in the draft, with Clingan projected to go anywhere from the third to seventh pick. Recent reports, however, suggest that Clingan could potentially be taken as high as first or second overall.
