Haywood Highsmith sued by man who lost leg in car crash

A 21-year-old who lost his leg in a car accident involving Haywood Highsmith earlier this month is now suing the NBA player.

Alekxei Pino filed the lawsuit in Florida, alleging that he was assisting a stranded motorist on February 6 in Miami when Highsmith, driving a 2021 Audi A5 at a high rate of speed, collided with him.

Pino claims in the suit that Highsmith was exceeding the legal speed limit, resulting in an above-the-knee amputation.
