The price of green fees: it’s a topic that seems to get plenty of us grumbling – especially when it comes to playing the very best courses.
We’ve reported how the price of grabbing a tee time at some of the very best layouts in Great Britain & Ireland seems to be hitting us ever harder in the pocket.
With a peak season green fee at nearly all the top 10 courses in our rankings list now £300 or more, and other clubs in the ladder increasing their own visitor rates to keep up the pace or to protect member tee times, critics are arguing the average golfer is being priced out of an experience.
You can play outside of the summer months, of course, take up a twilight rate, or befriend a member in a bid to cut the expense.
There is, though, another way. Booking a spot on our NCG Top 100s Tour can get you on the 1st tee at some of the home nations’ best courses, without necessarily having to break the bank.
The NCG Top 100s Tour is the UK’s leading series of competitive events for amateur golfers. All events are played on courses that feature in our definitive NCG Top 100s rankings.
Our 2024 season, which starts next month at a sold-out Royal St George’s, comprises of 70 events and goes to all four corners of this sceptred isle.
There are great prizes on offer, from our title sponsor TaylorMade, and those who hit the heights in our Stableford competitions will qualify for a Grand Final at Ganton, on October 17, with the overall winner receiving a seven-night break for two people to the Carolinas courtesy of Carolinas Golf.
You’ll get a bacon roll on arrival to our events, along with a sleeve of TaylorMade Tour Response golf balls, as well as a meal after play.
But you can also make some massive savings on green fees too.
