The Houston Texans have been pegged as the next young team to make a leap during the 2024 NFL season given their mix of coaching and young talent on the roster.
Head coach DeMeco Ryans looks like a natural on the sidelines, while second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud is a superstar in the making after a successful rookie campaign.
Houston already looks poised to make some noise in the playoffs after winning their Week 1 matchup against their AFC South rivals the Indianapolis Colts.
The Texans looked a little shaky to begin the game, but managed to find their groove in the second half and pull off a victory.
The roster looks great on paper, but teams are always looking for an extra edge.
As of now, the core of the team looks set though Houston did reportedly work out four players this past week via Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2.
“#Texans worked out Joshuah Bledsoe, A.J. Green ,Tre Herndon and Tommy Togiai,” Wilson reported.
Joshuah Bledsoe, A.J. Green and Tre Herndon are all defensive backs, while Tommy Togiai is a defensive tackle.
All four players bring varying degrees of NFL experience, though Bledsoe, Green and Herndon are notable names to look out for after the team placed cornerback Jeff Okudah on injured reserve with a hip injury.
Bledsoe might be the most recognizable name for Texans fans as he’s a Houston native and is a former New England Patriots draft pick.
All four players could get a shot on the practice squad, though it seems like this could just be the team doing its due diligence.
