“I Think It’s Chicken S***” – Aaron Rodgers Defends Jets’ Zach Wilson After Reports State QB Is Reluctant To Play

“I Think It’s Chicken S***” – Aaron Rodgers Defends Jets’ Zach Wilson After Reports State QB Is Reluctant To Play

What we have learned this NFL season is that when Aaron Rodgers is in front of a microphone, it’s probably worth our while to listen. Such is the case once again on Tuesday as Rodgers joined Pat McAfee and the fellas on his weekly hit on The Pat McAfee Show.

It has been a rough week in the media for the New York Jets, with their season seemingly slipping through their fingers. Every loss feels like the odds of seeing Rodgers back on the field again this year get slimmer and slimmer. With that comes the fact the Jets still need to field a quarterback on game day, and just who that will be was part of the problem this week.

Aaron Rodgers Defends Zach Wilson

The talk around the Jets this week centered around quarterback Zach Wilson and his reported reluctance to start again this year. When Rodgers was asked about the report he took the opportunity to talk down the report, and at the same time, build up his teammate.

“I’ll tell you that I love the kid. I’ve spent a lot of time with him, and I think he’s an amazing young man,” Rodgers said. “He’s been through a lot of s— in the last three years, and he’s got every right to be frustrated and disappointed about it.”

Rodgers then went on to address the report himself and did not hold back at all.

“What is your motivation to try and bury someone like that? And that’s a problem with the organization, you know, we need to get to the bottom of whatever this is coming from and put a stop to it. I think it’s chicken s— at its core, and I think it has no place in a winning organization.”

It’s been tough sledding for Wilson and the Jets offense this year, but at least he has a fan in Rodgers to fall back on.

How Do the New York Jets Move Forward?

While there is one report that states one thing, and Rodgers and the team state another, the reality is that someone needs to be under center on Sunday for New York. And while the season looks like it’s quickly going in the wrong direction, there are still things to play for, including possible jobs on the line — and winning cures all.

If it is Wilson, will the Jets get the most out of him in an important stretch of games for the franchise? If it’s not Wilson out there, were the reports right after all? Either way, it’s fair to state that things are currently a bit messy in the Big Apple.
