Iga Swiatek excludes Coco Gauff from her list of the top three players in the world

Swiatek Snubs Gauff When Naming Three Best Players In The World

Iga Swiatek discussed her rivalries in tennis, confidently placing herself among the top three players in the world, but notably leaving out Coco Gauff, who is currently in the top three.

During the 2024 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, Swiatek reflected on her tennis journey after a loss to Elena Rybakina, identifying herself, Rybakina, and Aryna Sabalenka as the top three women’s tennis players at present. However, official rankings show that Coco Gauff, the American rising star, is currently ranked above Rybakina.

Swiatek’s viewpoint may prioritize current form over rankings when assessing her rivals, as she has had more success against Rybakina and Sabalenka than against Gauff. Despite Gauff holding the number 3 spot in the world rankings, Swiatek perceives her as being beneath Rybakina and Sabalenka due to the challenges she has faced against them compared to Gauff.
