The 2024 NFL Draft has officially concluded, but the work isn’t over yet. Now, undrafted players will find homes around the league.

After adding eight players during the 2024 draft, the Atlanta Falcons have started to sign undrafted free agents.

Atlanta has found some undrafted gems in recent years, including Colorado linebacker Nate Landman and former Tusculum cornerback Dee Alford.

Which players are the Falcons signing as undrafted free agents?

Which UDFAs Did the Falcons Sign? Contracts and Notable Names

  • John Paddock, QB, Illinois
  • Isaiah Wooden, WR, Southern Utah
  • JaQuae Jackson, WR, Rutgers
  • Ryan Coll, OL, Richmond
  • Trey Vaval, CB, Minnesota State
  • Jayden Price, CB, NDSU
  • Ryan Sanborn, P, Texas

Isaiah Wooden’s deal includes a $15,000 signing bonus. At 5’9″, 175 pounds, Wooden possesses good speed and route-running ability that could make him an asset in the passing game, especially with pre-snap motion.

In 2023, Wooden appeared in all 11 games for the Thunderbirds and caught 61 passes for a total of 904 yards and a long of 66 while scoring 14 touchdowns.

JaQuae Jackson transferred to Rutgers for his last season from California University of Pennsylvania, a Division-II school. Jackson transferred to Rutgers to showcase more of his ability against better competition. He ended the season second on the team with 361 receiving yards on 22 receptions and a touchdown.

In his career, Ryan Sanborn had 232 punts. This past season with the Longhorns, he had 40 punts for 1,828 total yards and an average of 45.7 yards per punt, which was the seventh-best single-season average in program history. He finished 2023 as an All-Big 12 honorable mention.

The team’s deal for John Paddock includes a $5,000 signing bonus. Paddock is best known for his 507-yard performance leading the Illini to a 48-45 overtime win against Indiana.

The sixth-year senior completed 85-of-143 passes (59.4%) for 1,278 yards with nine TDs and three INTs.

The Falcons made headlines on night one of the draft by selecting Washington QB Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick just weeks after signing free agent Kirk Cousins to a fully guaranteed four-year, $100 million contract. Now, Paddock will be competing for a backup spot in Atlanta’s camp.

Who Will Be Attending the Falcons’ Rookie Minicamp?

  • Cole Beck, WR, Virginia Tech

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, dual-sport athlete and two-time track All-American Cole Beck will attend the Falcons’ rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.

Beck’s 2023 season was cut short due to a season-ending injury, but he still helped out on special teams, a role that he will probably keep in his pursuit to become an NFL player.

When Is the Falcons’ Rookie Minicamp?

The Falcons haven’t announced when they’ll hold their rookie minicamp, but teams across the league have two windows.

The first goes from May 3-6, and the second from May 10-13.

Players will be able to showcase their abilities on the field as the coaching staff and front office will get a closer look at prospects from the 2024 NFL Draft.

The rookie minicamp is not only important for the Falcons UDFAs looking to earn an opportunity with the team, but it’s a key event for Atlanta’s draft picks, as well.
