Manchester United’s collection of young stars out on loan were once again in action this weekend for their various clubs, as well as a more experienced one.

The youngsters were aiming to catch the eye of the United hierarchy and become the next academy graduate to get a shot at breaking into the first team.

2022 Youth Cup winning captain Rhys Bennett impressed for Fleetwood Town in a 45 minute display on Saturday afternoon in a 0-0 stalemate with Bromley.

He was given a rating of 7.6 for his afternoon’s work on Sofascore, making six clearances and blocking two shots, after being subbed on at half-time.

He made one crucial interception blocking a goal bound effort off the line when the Bromley forward looked destined to find the back of the net.

Bennett impressively won both his ground duels and six out of his nine aerial battles in the match as he helped his side keep a clean sheet under pressure.

Fellow centre back Sonny Aljofree also impressed in his Accrington Stanley side’s 2-1 win over Morecambe.

He was given a score of 7.2 and made seven clearances and one blocked shot in 90 minutes of action.

Aljofree made three interceptions, two tackles and won six out of his seven aerial contests and 75% of his ground duels.

The 19 year old also created one big chance with a key pass that his teammate could not convert.

United’s controversial winger Jadon Sancho impressed once more for Chelsea but did not grab an assist like the 24 year old has in previous matches.

The Blues were held to a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest but he was given a score of 7.6 on Sofascore, in 89 minutes of action.

He made three key passes and completed all three of his dribble attempts in the match.

The England international did lose the ball 10 times and failed to have any sort of shot on goal during the match.

Finally 18 year old keeper Elyh Harrison kept a clean sheet as he started in goal for Chester FC in a 0-0 draw with Farsley Celtic.

It was a quiet afternoon for the United man as his side pushed for a winner but could not find one.
