Rogaska Crystal (Liga Nova KBM) inked 29-year old former Slovenian international 205cm power forward Leon Santelj. It is actually his comeback to Rogaska Slatina as he has played here before. Santelj played most recently at Belfius Mons in Belgian Pro Basketball League. In two games he averaged 7.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.5apg and 1.0spg last season. He also played 32 games in BNXT League where he had 12.9ppg, 5.3rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to Eurobasket.com All-BNXT League Honorable Mention.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at KK Zadar in Croatian Premijer Liga. In 35 games he recorded 6.1ppg and 2.5rpg in that year. Santelj helped them to win the league title despite they ended the regular season at the second place. He also played 25 games in ABA League where he got 3.7ppg and 1.2rpg in that year.
Santelj was also a member of Slovenian international program for some years. He played for Slovenian Senior National Team back in 2019 and previously for U18 National Team in 2013.
Santelj represented Slovenia at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Lignano Sabbiadoro (Italy) nine years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 6.6ppg, 4.1rpg, FGP-1(69.7%), FT: 46.4%.
He has played previously professionally in Slovenia (Santeljlios Suns, Postojna, Plama Pur and Koper) and Czech Republic (Olomoucko).
Among many awards he was selected to Eurobasket.com Slovenian League All-Newcomers Team back in 2015.
