Infinitum: Endless quality on and off the golf course

Infinitum: Endless quality on and off the golf course

Infinitum hosted one of golf’s longest weeks for the fifth time in November 2023.

The DP World Tour’s Final Stage of Q-school was full of ups and downs which saw dreams realised and shattered.

It doesn’t take long after arriving at Infinitum to discover why the property has become the established home of the tour’s path to glory.

The players took on two mouthwatering golf courses – the Lakes Course designed by Greg Norman and the Hills Course designed by Alfonso Viador.

33 players passed the test in Tarragona, all of which you find out in NCG’s round-up from the week.

Both golf courses opened in 2008. The Lakes Course features water on 14 holes surrounded by stunning wetlands. There is jeopardy around every corner and strategic play is required.

The Hills Course demands supreme accuracy off the tee, and both courses are built to test every aspect of your game.

The nine-hole Ruins course, also designed by Norman, completes the 45-hole site and is known as one of Europe’s great nine-hole tracks.

Although I wasn’t lucky enough to play the Hills, I took on the Lakes Course from the back tees – the track that hosted the final round of Q-school.

What a challenge this was. For one day and one day only, the sun hid behind the clouds and the wind swept across the course.

The water was an issue, make no mistake. You needed to consider where not to hit your ball as much as where to hit it.

The par 3s were tricky and tough and often protected by water hazards and deep bunkers. The par 5s were long, and don’t get me started on the 16th hole which required two career shots to even get within reachable range on your third stroke.

It was a worthy foe was the Lakes Course as you can read in my course feature here.

Infinitum Golf Resort: Off-course amenities to die for…

Off the golf course, players and indeed visitors can enjoy the incredibly impressive amenities as part of Infinitum.

The Terrace at Hills is the most spectacular setting for your afternoon/evening meal. The panoramic views are unrivalled and the menu features delicious dishes and some of the region’s finest wines.

Having experienced the Terrace myself, I won’t be forgetting it in a hurry. Not just the food and the company, but the entire setting was a privilege to be sat in.

It was equally as enjoyable to sit outside the Lakehouse Bistrot that overlooks the 18th green of the Lakes Course as the golfers battled for their lives in the scorching Spanish sun.

The Lakehouse Bistrot is somewhere you can enjoy lunch, an evening meal or just a drink if that’s all you require.

The outdoor patio is pure class and comfort and I can think of no better place to sip a beverage either before or after your round of golf.

Infinitum will also host you at the Costa Daurada Beach Club where you can absorb horizons from the infinity pools, lounge and restaurants, while also relaxing out of the sun in the Signe Area.

You can’t just find a holiday at Infinitum, you can find a home too in the many luxury apartments and villas on the Costa Daurada.
