Ingham and Tuchel Discuss Man United Manager Job – Exclusive Meeting Recap

Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Thomas Tuchel held meeting on Tuesday about Man United managerial job - Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and former Chelsea and Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel reportedly held a meeting last week to discuss the managerial job at Old Trafford.

As uncertainty looms over Erik ten Hag, Tuchel has been mentioned as a potential candidate to replace the under-fire Dutchman.

Despite leading United to FA Cup glory after beating Manchester City at Wembley last month, Ten Hag is still not safe and his position in the hot seat is more uncertain than ever before.

Since the victory over Pep Guardiola’s men, United have been conducting a season review. The results of this thorough audit of the 2023/24 campaign are expected to determine Ten Hag’s fate.

Amidst all this, it’s understood that United have remained in contact with the representatives of potential Ten Hag replacements including Roberto De Zerbi, Gareth Southgate and Tuchel.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person right after the FA Cup final relayed that Tuchel believes he’s “nailed on” to become the next Red Devils gaffer. It was stated that the German coach is of the opinion that he’s INEOS’ primary target to take over the reins once Ten Hag is relieved of his duties.

Tuchel considers that he has “unfinished business” in the Premier League, stemming from his time at Chelsea, where his tenure was cut short by new owners of the Blues – Clearlake Capital led by Todd Boehly.

BILD journalist Christian Falk has now revealed that Tuchel held talks with Ratcliffe to potentially become the next United manager.

Falk wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “There was a meeting in Monaco last Tuesday between Thomas Tuchel and the new Manchester United shareholder Jim Ratcliffe.”

“Tuchel revealed his plans if he were to take over the coaching position in the event of Erik ten Hag being fired.”

“Tuchel is said to have explained to the United co-owner how he could get United’s sporting problems like Sancho and Mason Mount back on track.”

“Tuchel mentioned Antonio Rüdiger as example that he had already succeeded in the past in getting Players with great potential back to top performance.”

There is a belief in Germany that Tuchel turned down the prospect of continuing in the Bayern dugout because the United job is within his grasp.

As manager across the different clubs he’s been, Tuchel has won the Champions League, Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, the Bundesliga, the German Cup, two Ligue 1 titles and one French Cup.
