If there’s one thing any NFL fan does not want to hear in the middle of the summer as training camps approach, it is that their team’s franchise quarterback is injured.

It is some consolation that the disorder did not pop up during the middle of a playoff run, but this is the time of year when everyone should be rested, rehabbed and ready to go.

That “everyone” apparently does not include Dallas Cowboys signal caller Dak Prescott.

A disturbing image of the possibly soon-to-be free agent is online.

Juan Carlos Vazquez posted a picture purportedly showing the Cowboys quarterback walking with a protective boot on his right foot.

The belief is that Prescott is recuperating from a minor sprain and has been protecting his foot for the past few days.

Thankfully, it is not thought to be an injury that will have lasting effects heading into training camp and the regular season.

For Cowboys fans, the far more important issue is Prescott’s lingering contract situation with the team.

He enters the final year of his current deal with Dallas this fall, and many hoped he would already be signed to a long-term extension by now.

However, that has not transpired, and the NFL’s quarterback market continues to skyrocket.

This could translate into Prescott desiring to see just how valuable he is on the open market as a free agent, and some speculate he may command a payday of $60 million per year.

That would also send the Cowboys back to square one in the quarterback room.
