The New England Patriots are reportedly considering all their options at No. 3.

They have a clear need for a quarterback, but they might not be sold on any of the prospects that could be available by then.

Jerod Mayo talked about them likely going with a quarterback, but he also stated they could pick up the phone and make some moves.

Should that be the case, then Patriots insider Tom E. Curran reports that the Patriots would most likely trade with the Minnesota Vikings (via The Purple Persuasion).

The Vikings’ desire to trade up from No. 11 and get a quarterback is the worst-kept secret in the league.

For weeks, they’ve been linked with a move for Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, perhaps the biggest riser on most draft boards throughout the course of the entire process.

Nonetheless, the rumors of Drake Maye going to Minnesota keep getting stronger by the day.

The UNC product is as raw as he is physically gifted, and the Vikings could afford to have him sit out for a year while they start Sam Darnold.

Maye has been projected to be the No. 3 pick for most of the process.

But if the Patriots decide to stay put, the Vikings could still land their next franchise quarterback by trying to trade with the Arizona Cardinals or Los Angeles Chargers, who’ll be on the clock with the No. 4 and No. 5 pick, respectively.

Whatever the case, it’s the dawn of a new era in Minnesota, and they will be very aggressive to kick it off on the right foot.
