Insider Reveals Juan Soto Injury Update

The New York Yankees have been dealing with injuries to key players like Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo, and Clarke Schmidt. Unfortunately, the situation worsened as star outfielder Juan Soto missed Saturday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays due to a hand injury.

Soto injured his hand while sliding recently and woke up with inflammation on Saturday. An update on his condition was provided by insider Meredith Marakovits.

Yankees clubhouse reporter Meredith Marakovits mentioned that Soto will undergo more tests on his hand once the team returns to New York after Sunday’s game against the Jays. The team’s trainers will assess Soto today to determine the necessary course of action.

Reports indicate that Soto felt pain while attempting to grip a bat on Saturday, leading to his absence from the lineup on Saturday and Sunday’s series finale.

X-rays revealed no fracture in Soto’s hand, but the team will have more information on the inflammation next week to decide if a stint on the injured list is necessary.

The Yankees are currently struggling with injuries and cannot afford to lose Soto. They recently acquired J.D. Davis to provide some support amidst the growing injury concerns.

Soto has been incredibly durable throughout his career, playing in at least 150 games every season since his rookie year, except for the shortened 2020 season.
