The Tennessee Titans found their quarterback for the future, but it was already too late for this season.
It didn’t take long until Will Levis proved why so many teams made a mistake by passing on him and letting him slip all the way to the second round.
The rookie out of Kentucky was poised and ready every time he set foot on the field, and while there are still serious concerns about his accuracy and completion percentage, his confidence and physical traits were just impressive.
Unfortunately, HC Mike Vrabel might not get another chance to watch him play this season, as he suffered a lower-leg injury late in the loss to the Houston Texans.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Levis claimed to be fine, but he’s still believed to have suffered an ankle sprain and will undergo an MRI later on Monday.

Levis told reporters afterward: “I’m all right. It could have been a lot worse.”

With the Titans already being eliminated from playoff contention, it would make no sense to risk their franchise player in a meaningless game.
Of course, having rookie QBs play and getting snaps in real-life situations is crucial for their development and there’s no such thing as bad experience, but they could and should still decide to play the long game and be patient and careful with him.
Ryan Tannehill’s days in charge of the offense are a thing of the past, so perhaps Vrabel could allow him to be on the field one last time before walking away from the team as a free agent.
