Four Premier League clubs have reportedly joined the race for Atalanta star and Manchester United midfield target Ederson.
Ederson was linked to United in the summer and was tipped as a potential replacement for the declining Casemiro.
It was stated by Italian media that the Red Devils even tabled a bid for the player but it didn’t satisfy Atalanta as it arrived too late into the transfer window.
United instead ended up signing Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.
However, a recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United’s interest in Ederson remains firm and the club could swoop in for him in the near future – either in January or during next year’s summer transfer window.
This was corroborated by Fichajes, who noted that the Reds view the Brazil international as a “quality reinforcement for their long-term projects.”
Within Old Trafford, the player is considered a “highly valuable alternative” in the middle of the park.
The likes of Barcelona and Juventus were also mentioned to have Ederson on their radar. TBR gave an update on the 25-year-old’s situation and indicated that there are four other Premier League outfits vying to land him.
These top-flight outfits are Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle and Liverpool.
Graeme Bailey revealed that all these four clubs sent scouts to watch Ederson in action last week as Atalanta faced Arsenal in the Champions League.
Ederson won seven of the 10 ground duels he delved into and came out on top in the one aerial challenge he contested.
He completed two of the three dribbles he embarked on and registered an impressive pass accuracy of 86%.

It’s believed that La Dea value Ederson at a whooping £50 million. Interestingly, Bailey does not name United as one of the clubs that sent representatives to keep tabs on Ederson.
If Ederson is indeed a player they want, then Erik ten Hag’s side should remain alert to his situation to ensure they are not beaten to his signature.
