Introducing Callaway’s Latest Opus Wedge Collection – Golf News Update

Callaway launches all-new Opus wedge range - Golf News

Callaway has introduced a new line of tour-validated wedges, Opus and Opus Platinum, featuring innovative Spin Gen Face technology for superior control in the short game.

The Spin Gen Face Technology is a combination of three key elements on the face. A tighter pitch with more grooves, an offset groove-in-groove design for increased spin on open-faced shots, and a new aggressive face blast for enhanced spin and bite. These elements work together to deliver crisp, Tour-level spin that enhances short game action and control.

Additional performance enhancements include a higher toe peak, radius in the leading edge, and easier hosel transitions. The wedges also offer a variety of sole shapes to cater to different swing patterns, such as narrow to wide shapes in S grind, W grind, C grind, and T grind options.

The Opus wedges come in brushed chrome, black shadow, or raw finishes (custom orders only), with stock shaft options including True Temper Dynamic Gold MID 115g (steel) and UST Recoil DART HDC shaft 65g (graphite), along with Golf Pride Tour Velvet +2 Grey grips.

The Opus Platinum wedges are a significant advancement, combining technology from metal injection molding (MiM) and tungsten for precision and control. Tungsten has been integrated into the topline to lower the flight for more controlled and spin-friendly shots to the greens, while the wedges also feature the Spin Gen Face Technology for Tour-level spin and shaping.

Opus Platinum wedges are available in Blue and Chrome Finishes with stock DG Mid 115 steel shafts and MCC grey/black grips.

These new wedges have already gained popularity on Tour with major victories by players like Xander Schauffele, Yuka Saso, Akshay Bhatia, Chris Kirk, and Ruoning Yin. At the 152nd Open Championship, players like Nicolai and Rasmus Højgaard, and Tom McKibbin will be using Opus wedges.

TOUR VALIDATION

Opus (RRP £179 per club) and Opus Platinum Wedges (£229 per club) will be available at retail from September 6.
