It’s always nice to see a player hanging out in the offseason on a nice, relaxing vacation as opposed to either destroying themselves in the gym or spending their downtime out partying.

Recovery is important, and new Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy appears to be enjoying his R&R in the Bahamas.

McCarthy looks as happy as ever in his newest Instagram post, where he is shown at the Baha Mar Resorts with his new close friend, a flamingo.

McCarthy appears to be in the Bahamas with his girlfriend, and according to the photo collage, the two are enjoying themselves immensely.

McCarthy better rest up, because he has a lot of work ahead of him in Minnesota with big shoes to fill following the departure of Kirk Cousins.

Sam Darnold could be opening the season as the starter, but it’s only a matter of time before McCarthy is the guy in Minnesota and expectations will be through the roof following a move up in the draft and a National Championship under his belt.

McCarthy will be stepping into one of the most ideal situations a rookie could ask for, with a great coach in Kevin O’Connell, arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL in Justin Jefferson, an elite tight end in T.J. Hockenson, and a strong offensive line.

Darnold is on a one-year, $10 million deal and will likely serve as the bridge QB, but it will be interesting to see if McCarthy can rest up enough in the Bahamas to come in and take the starting job in Week 1.
