The Minnesota Vikings find themselves in a bit of a rebuilding situation as they had to pivot at the quarterback position this offseason.
Former starter Kirk Cousins walked in free agency to the Atlanta Falcons after receiving a massive four-year deal, leaving the Vikings without a clear option at the position.
Fortunately for Minnesota, they were able to take what looks to be their next franchise quarterback in J.J. McCarthy whom they selected with the 10th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
McCarthy quickly rose up draft boards after a strong NFL Combine performance as well as his pedigree, winning at every level of football up until this point.
While the team also signed Sam Darnold in free agency to presumably be their starter for the 2024 NFL season, it won’t be long until McCarthy takes over.
In the meantime before training camp, McCarthy was seen on the golf course taking a swim in honor of the upcoming 3M Open via The Purple Persuasion.

In the video, McCarthy takes a full plunge into the water and notes how refreshing the water is.
He later jokes that he’ll go back into the water if he hits a ball into it.
It’s a fun, light-hearted moment for McCarthy who seems to be enjoying his offseason before the rigors of training camp and the regular season begin.
While he might not play right away, he should get his opportunity sooner rather than later.
