Ja Morant Speaks On His Crazy First Game Back

Ja Morant Speaks On His Crazy First Game Back

Ja Morant

Ja Morant was fired up after dropping 34 points, six rebounds, eight assists and the game-winner against New Orleans in his first game back on Tuesday.

“I’m a dawg,” Morant said on TNT as his teammates mobbed him postgame. “I’ve been putting the work in. I ain’t played a game in eight months. I had a lot of time to learn myself. I had a lot of hard days where I went through it, but basketball is my life and what I love. It’s therapeutic for me. I’m just excited to be back.”

The Grizzlies star also addressed being booed by the New Orleans crowd whenever he touched the ball.

“You see where that got them,” he quipped.

Meanwhile, Morant’s teammate Desmond Bane revealed postgame that Morant had suggested going to Jaren Jackson on the final play.

“Ja came up to me and asked me, ‘Do you want to run a post up for Jaren?’ And I was like, ‘No, we about to get you the ball’.

Morant then confirmed Bane’s account of things.

“He told me, f*ck no, you getting the ball,” Ja said with a laugh.

Morant and the Grizzlies will return to the court when they play the Pacers on Thursday.
