The Jacksonville Jaguars need Trevor Lawrence to be as good as most people thought he would be.
He’s shown glimpses of greatness, and he’s still young so that untapped potential could still be there.
That’s definitely what the organization thinks will happen, and they want him to stay there for the long run.
As reported by Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk, Jaguars GM Trent Baalke announced that the team would pick up the fifth-year options on the contracts of their quarterback and running back Travis Etienne.

Etienne’s option for 2025 is worth $6.1 million, while Lawrence’s is worth $25.7 million.
Lawrence was the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, and he was one of the most hyped prospects in recent history, even drawing comparisons to Payton Manning.
He had a disappointing rookie season, mostly because of Urban Meyer’s terrible management on and off the field, but he bounced back in a promising way in his first year with Doug Pederson.
Lawrence then failed to keep it up in his third season, struggling with injuries and some inconsistency.
Some think he’s no longer the best or most promising quarterback in his division, with C.J. Stroud and even Anthony Richardson entering that conversation.
But he’s still quite young and has elite traits for a quarterback, so it’ll be interesting to see if he can live up to the expectations going forward.
