Jakob Pelletier is set to begin anew with the Calgary Flames after agreeing to a one-year, two-way contract. Elliotte Friedman first reported this news, with official confirmation from the Flames pending later today.
After a challenging 2023-24 season marred by injuries, the 23-year-old Pelletier is motivated to bounce back. Following a successful AHL performance in 2022-23, expectations were high for his NHL debut until an early-season injury halted his progress.
Despite a return to action in January 2024, Pelletier struggled to find his form, managing only 13 games and three points with the Flames before heading back to the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers.

Now under a new contract, Pelletier is committed to proving himself and securing a regular spot in the Flames lineup. Training extensively during the off-season, including sessions with teammate Jonathan Huberdeau, he is determined to showcase his abilities and stamp his authority in the upcoming season.
Where Will Pelletier Slot in for the Flames This Season?
With Pelletier’s potential impact for the Flames under the spotlight, his performance and adaptability will dictate his role in the team’s forward lines. A positive start and a display of confidence are essential for him to secure a significant position and contribute effectively to the Flames’ campaign.
