James Harden asserts: “I remain a top scorer in the league”

James Harden: "I still can score with the best of them"

Following a standout performance in the Los Angeles Clippers’ postseason opener, James Harden reiterated his confidence in his scoring ability, asserting, “I still can score with the best of them.”

Harden’s proclamation comes on the heels of a commanding 28-point display in the Clippers’ 109-97 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks, marking his playoff debut with the team.

In addition to Harden’s offensive prowess, Ivica Zubac’s playoff-career high of 20 points and 15 rebounds contributed significantly to the Clippers’ victory.

Despite the absence of Kawhi Leonard due to injury, the Clippers demonstrated resilience and collective effort, with five players reaching double figures in scoring.

While Harden has embraced a facilitating role since joining the Clippers earlier in the season, his ability to contribute offensively remains a potent asset for the team’s success.

Reflecting on his role with the Clippers, Harden emphasized his versatility and readiness to step up when needed, stating, “My role for this team is just to generate really good shots or making guys’ jobs easier, and when my number is called, I can score the basketball,” via ClutchPoints.

Harden, 34, averaged 16.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in 34.3 minutes per game during the regular season.
