James Maddison’s Controversial Social Media Post Causes Stir

It’s clear that social media is a part of the lives of much of the world’s population these days, though one Tottenham Hotspur player might need to rethink his social strategy after a cringe post made in the aftermath of Spurs’ epic win at Man United.

It’s believed that some athletes and professional sports people have their social accounts managed for them, allowing them to completely concentrate on the job that they’re handsomely remunerated for in the most part.

Tottenham ace James Maddison has completely embarrassed himself

Spurs’ Brennan Johnson even came off social media altogether recently because of the abuse he faced because of poor form.

And who can forget the disgusting social backlash towards Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka in the wake of England’s European Championship final loss to Italy.

Despite the down sides that using social media platforms clearly brings, that hasn’t, and likely won’t stop people from using it religiously as part of their daily lives.

James Maddison might want to lie low for a bit, however.

After Brennan Johnson scored another goal, this time against Man United and thanks to the sensational run from Micky van de Ven, Maddison decided to pay tribute to his team-mate in just about the most embarrassing way.

Taking to his Instagram, Maddison looked to have lost the plot as he compared Johnson with the world’s best-ever centre-forward, Ronaldo Nazario.

A superimposed picture of Johnson’s face on Ronaldo’s body was clearly meant to be a nod that the striker has been sensational, but the former isn’t fit to lace the latter’s boots.

Given the time it would’ve taken to put something like this together and post it, one has to question the maturity of the 27-year-old former Leicester man.

Fortunately for Maddison, the image was only on his stories so it’s now disappeared from view.
