Jarrett Allen Achieves Milestone Double-Double with Cleveland Cavaliers

Cleveland Cavaliers Jarrett Allen out at least 2 weeks with ankle injury diagnosed as bone bruise

Jarrett Allen played a pivotal role in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ victory over the Orlando Magic in game one. He not only showcased his skills as a dominant big man but also achieved a milestone for Cleveland that hadn’t been seen since LeBron James played for the team. Allen became the first Cavaliers player since LeBron James to achieve a double-double with at least 15 points and 15 rebounds in a playoff game. While Donovan Mitchell was a key factor in the win, the supporting cast, including Allen, also contributed significantly. Allen has been having a standout season leading up to the playoffs, averaging 16.5 points, 2.7 assists, and 10.5 rebounds per game with an impressive field goal percentage of 63.4%. Despite not being selected as an All-Star this season, Allen arguably had the best year of his career. He carried his momentum from the regular season into the playoffs, especially in game one against a tough Orlando Magic team.

In the matchup against the Magic, Allen was a standout player for the Cavaliers, pulling down 18 rebounds and scoring 16 points in 35 minutes of play. Teaming up with Evan Mobley in the frontcourt, Allen caused problems for Orlando with his size and skills. He also displayed efficiency by shooting 60.0% from the field and showed his defensive prowess with two steals. If Allen maintains this level of play throughout the series as one of the top players on the Cavaliers, the Magic could face more challenges in the NBA playoffs.

Aside from Allen, Donovan Mitchell had a stellar performance with 30 points and three steals, while Evan Mobley contributed 16 points, three blocks, 11 rebounds, and made two three-pointers. Darius Garland, despite facing injury in the third quarter, showed his leadership on the court with 14 points and eight assists. The Cavaliers played well overall in a physical game, and Allen’s achievement in game one should not be overlooked. This victory sets a positive tone for Cleveland as they continue their playoff campaign.
