Jasmine Koo, USC freshman, claims victory at Windy City Collegiate

USC star freshman Jasmine Koo gets first win at Windy City Collegiate

USC freshman Jasmine Koo claimed her first college win at the 2024 Windy City Collegiate at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Illinois. Koo, ranked ninth in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, finished 5 under for the tournament, securing a two-shot victory over Purdue’s Natasha Kiel.

A highly touted recruit in the 2024 class, Koo, a member of the U.S. Curtis Cup team, displayed her talent by shooting 9 under through the first two rounds. Despite a final round of 76, she held on for her first collegiate victory.

Following Koo on the leaderboard were Oregon’s Suvichaya Vinijchaitham in third place and Arizona’s Charlotte Back in fourth. A group of golfers tied for fifth, including South Carolina’s Hannah Darling and Oregon’s Kiara Romero.

Despite Koo’s individual success, USC finished in third place as a team. Arizona State, a former Pac-12 team, took home the team trophy with all four of their golfers finishing in the top 20. GB&I Curtis Cup member Patience Rhodes led the way for Arizona State, tying for fifth place. Paula Schulz-Hanssen and Beth Coulter tied for 10th.

South Carolina placed second in the team standings, with Northwestern and Oregon rounding out the top five.
