We are just days away from what promises to be one of the most talented NFL Drafts in many years, and several teams could end up with a legitimate quarterback.
While Caleb Williams from USC is the consensus top prospect, LSU’s Jayden Daniels isn’t far behind.
Former NFL quarterback and coach Jason Garrett was asked who the second-best prospect is this year, and he not only said it’s Daniels, but he said he’s amazed at how good Daniels is, per Sunday Night Football on Twitter.

Daniels won the Heisman Trophy this past season, and he threw for 3,812 yards and 40 touchdowns while completing 72.2 percent of his pass attempts.
At 6-foot-4 and 210 pounds, he is considered an elite athlete, and his 1,134 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns in 2023 showed he has true dual-threat ability.
Garrett said that while Daniels isn’t quite Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, a two-time league MVP, his running ability is amazing.
The Washington Commanders have the No. 2 pick, and in recent weeks, there has been a growing consensus that Daniels is the second-best player in the draft, which has made it seem as if he will end up with them.
The Commanders have been something of a laughingstock for over 20 years, especially during the tenure of controversial former owner Daniel Snyder, but they’re now owned by a new group led by billionaire investor Josh Harris.
Harris and crew seem dedicated to building a winning organization, and Daniels could be the first big piece to help turn things around in the nation’s capital.
