Jason Kidd Firmly States Jaylen Brown as Best Player on Celtics was Genuine, Not Mind Games

Jason Kidd Insists He Wasn't Playing Mind Games Calling Jaylen Brown Best Player On Celtics

Jason Kidd clarifies his comments regarding Jaylen Brown being the best player on the Boston Celtics before Game 2, denying any intent to play mind games.

“It wasn’t mind games,” Kidd stated to The Athletic following the Dallas Mavericks’ practice. “But for whatever reason, everybody took it that way. Everybody was speculating, and no one really asked me that.”

Kidd and Brown have a genuine relationship stemming from Brown’s time at Cal.

“My whole thing was that, watching the Eastern Conference playoffs, like, he has been their best player,” Kidd explained. “No one ever said I was wrong. Even their player said I wasn’t lying.”
