The Washington Commanders have undergone some drastic changes over the past couple of years, with the biggest being the change in ownership, going from the controversial reign of Daniel Snyder to a promising future with Josh Harris and his ownership group, including Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.
Along with the change in ownership, which is definitely a positive sign for the future of the Commanders franchise, the team also made a change at head coach and quarterback in hopes of righting the ship sooner rather than later.
Once the 2023 NFL season concluded, the Commanders promptly parted ways with veteran head coach Ron Rivera while also trading quarterback Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks to backup Geno Smith.
Fortunately, the Commanders appear to have gotten considerable upgrades at both head coach and quarterback with the addition of Dan Quinn and Jayden Daniels.
Although Commanders fans are ecstatic about the arrival of Daniels, the rookie quarterback is staying humble as his NFL career gets underway, which was never more apparent than how he answered a recent question directed at him, via Scott Abraham of 7News DC.
Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels gets it.
A reporter asked Jayden what it’s like being the “star quarterback” in town?
Jayden quickly responds, “I ain’t a star quarterback yet, I got a long way to go. I’m a rookie.”
Just the perfect response. pic.twitter.com/jmR27TVm6w

This is precisely the kind of response an NFL team wants from its rookie quarterback, especially considering the situation in Washington and how the franchise intends to build around him moving forward.
Daniels is one of six quarterbacks who were taken in the first round of the NFL Draft recently and could end up being the best of the bunch, but he’ll have a tough hill to climb in Washington as they try to contend in the NFC East division.
