Jaylen Brown Addresses Controversial Bronny James Video Going Viral

Brown

Jaylen Brown found himself in an awkward situation during a Lakers Summer League game after he was seemingly caught in 4K dissing Bronny James.

In the video that was initially posted by Celtics on NBC Sports Boston, Brown seemed to say, “Honestly, I don’t think Bronny is a pro”.

He was sitting with WNBA stars Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick, and the latter appeared to respond to Brown’s comments about Bronny.

Gondrezick said, “I think he’ll be on the G-League team for sure.”

To which Brown replied, “I don’t think so, I think because of his name he’ll be on the Lakers.”

Without confirming or denying that he was speaking about Bronny, Brown addressed the situation and subsequent viral storm on social media.

“It’s a flex to have your son alongside you in the NBA; it reflects greatness and longevity! Bronny has all the tools around him to be successful. I look forward to watching his growth,” Brown said on X.

The game Brown attended was a rough one for Bronny, who finished the night with two points, three rebounds, and one assist, as well as three personal fouls.

James has been somewhat underwhelming so far in Summer League and has gone 0-15 from the field.

But it’s still the very early days, and no doubt the amount of pressure being placed on the 19-year-old can’t be easy to navigate.

Bronny recently said that he’s open to whatever role the Lakers have for him in 2024-25, whether that be in the NBA or the G-League.

“I’m just looking forward to any basketball I play, no matter what level I’m playing at,” he told reporters after the Lakers’ 99-80 loss to the Rockets.
