Jaylon Johnson Gushes About Bears' Roster

For the first time in decades, the Chicago Bears have the type of roster that is impressive and could, at least hypothetically, defeat any other team in the NFL in any given week.

It all starts with Caleb Williams, the potential-laden quarterback they took No. 1 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he will be throwing to studs such as D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen and No. 9 overall pick Rome Odunze.

Chicago also has some studs on defense, including cornerback Jaylon Johnson, who called their roster one of the best he’s had and one that gives them the opportunity to “do something special” while on “The Jim Rome Show.”

The Bears have mostly been struggling ever since they won the Super Bowl during the 1985 season with a legendary squad that may have been the greatest defensive team ever.

They did reach the Super Bowl during the 2006 campaign, where they lost to the Indianapolis Colts, but their roster is likely more talented right now, at least on paper.

Johnson made the Pro Bowl last year for the first time, posting 10 passes defended and four interceptions.

This offseason, the cornerback agreed to a four-year, $76 million contract extension after the Bears used their franchise tag on him.

There is no guarantee the Bears will make the playoffs this coming season — Williams could turn out to be a disappointment, at least as a rookie — but with all the talent they have, their future is probably very bright.
