Jeeno Thitikul Takes Early Lead at Kroger Queen City Championship, Lydia Ko Close Behind by Two Strokes

Jeeno Thitikul leads Kroger Queen City Championship, Lydia Ko two back

Jeeno Thitikul holds a two-shot lead after 54 holes of the LPGA’s 2024 Kroger Queen City Championship, with Lydia Ko, the newest member of the league’s Hall of Fame, in hot pursuit.

Lydia Ko, fresh off her victory at the AIG Women’s British Open at St. Andrews, carded a third-round 3-under 69 at TPC River’s Bend in Maineville, Ohio on Saturday, sitting two shots behind Thitikul.

Starting her day with a bogey, Ko turned at even-par 36 with a birdie on No. 8. She then proceeded to birdie Nos. 10, 14, and 18 on the back nine, securing her place in Sunday’s final group.

Thitikul outperformed Ko on the third day, carding a 4-under 68 with three birdies on each side, but also with back-to-back bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17. Thitikul has been on a solid run lately, following a missed cut at the Evian Championship with a tie for 17th at the Women’s Open and a T-4 finish at the FM Championship in Boston.

Yan Liu sits in third place at 13 under, three shots behind, while Albane Valenzuela and Haeran Ryu are tied for fourth at 12 under, four shots off the lead.

Final-round coverage of the tournament will be aired on Golf Channel from 1-4 p.m. ET.
