Jerry Rice is the greatest wide receiver in NFL history, still to this day.

He’s also the ultimate Niner, and a guy who’s always going to defend his team’s honor.

That’s why he didn’t care for a couple of reporter’s questions on the golf course at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe on Thursday.

According to a report by Michael J. Babcock of TMZ Sports, the reporters asked Rice whether the Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers corps was good enough to win a Super Bowl.

Rice didn’t respond kindly, even threatening to fight them.

Per the report, Rice claimed that the reporters had smirks on their faces and were trolling him.

He didn’t regret his attitude and claimed that he wouldn’t apologize, adding that he will always defend his team’s honor.

Obviously, there might be more than what was shown in the clip, as it’s not usual for anybody to react that way after a simple or harmless question.

Now, it’s going to be up to Kyle Shanahan’s team to stand by their legend and give him a helping hand on the field.

It’s been more than two decades since the Niners have hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy, and while they’re still one of the best teams in the league, they can’t continue living in the past.
