Joe Burrow Shares His Thoughts on the Proposed NFL Schedule Changes

The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to be a Super Bowl candidate again next season.

That’s because their top-tier quarterback will be back to full strength, and he’s already shown what he’s capable of when he’s healthy.

Nonetheless, even if he hasn’t been around for that long, we could start making a case for Joe Burrow being injury-prone, as he’s missed plenty of time already with different ailments.

That’s why it only makes sense that he’s not particularly happy to see that the league could look to expand the schedule to 18 regular-season games.

With that in mind, Burrow took to Twitter to call for two bye weeks if the league wants to add another regular-season contest.

Truth be told, it actually makes sense.

Needless to say, more games mean more revenue for the league and, eventually, for the players as well.

However, player safety should be first and foremost, and enduring a 17-game regular season is tough already.

The league agreed to take one game off the preseason, so perhaps they could agree to reduce it by an additional game to make sure the players are on board with this.

Having two bye weeks in an 18-game schedule could even benefit competitiveness.

The league is becoming more global and reaching more destinations by the day, and adding an additional fixture could help them have more international games as well.

Still, this is the most physical sport on Earth, and the players are risking their health every single time they set foot on the field.
