The Cleveland Browns need to keep winning to make sure they make the playoffs.
They have a somewhat winnable matchup versus the New York Jets in front of them, especially considering how much they’ve struggled offensively.
Notably, this game could mean more for QB Joe Flacco, who wasn’t brought back by the Jets even after they lost Aaron Rodgers for the season.
When asked about that, the former Super Bowl champion downplayed it and talked about how happy he was by getting the chance to play with the Browns (via Zac Jackson).
Flacco on not getting a call from the Jets: “Is what it is. Happy to be where I am for sure. Lots of guys in that locker room I respect.”

Of course, Flacco is a pro, and he knows better than to make the game about him, especially if he’s set to face a stout and physical defensive unit like the Jets.
Likewise, you also know he wants to stick it to them and prove to them that he is far from done.
Notably, the Jets could’ve been in a position to make the playoffs if they had given Flacco a call.
Granted, their subpar offensive line would’ve been a major issue, and he’s better off in Cleveland, where the offensive line has given him more time to operate.
The Browns are 3-1 with him, and he’s been the best quarterback on the team this season by a significant margin.
The Jets, on the other hand, decided not to bring another veteran and trusted Zach Wilson to hold down the fort, which proved to be a mistake again.
