Following a 28-3 loss to the Eagles at home in Week 7, the Giants hold a 2-5 record after seven games in the 2024 season. Next up, they face the Steelers on Monday Night Football in Week 8. Giants’ owner John Mara made an appearance at a movie premiere celebrating his father’s impact on football with “The Duke: Wellington Mara’s Giant Life.”

During the premiere, Mara expressed his support for head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen. He confirmed that there are no intentions to make any changes at the coaching or GM positions. Mara is committed to Daboll and Schoen for the entirety of the 2025 season, despite the team’s 2-5 start.

John Mara Stands by Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen for 2025

After Tom Coughlin’s resignation following the 2015 season, the Giants cycled through four different head coaches. Ben McAdoo lasted one and a half seasons, followed by Pat Shurmur for two seasons, and then Joe Judge for two seasons before being let go. General manager Dave Gettleman resigned after the 2021 season, leading to a new era in 2022.

John Mara brought in former Buffalo Bills assistant GM Joe Schoen to take over as general manager. Schoen, in turn, brought in former Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll as head coach. Despite a successful first season where the Giants went 9-7-1 and won a playoff game, the team struggled the following season with a 6-11 record. Now, with a 2-5 start to the 2024 season, Mara continues to support Daboll and Schoen, seeing their vision for the team and believing in their plan. However, Mara’s stance could shift depending on the team’s performance by the end of the season.
