John McEnroe Clashes With Travis Scott About Nike Collaboration

John McEnroe Clashes With Travis Scott About Nike Collaboration

John McEnroe and rapper Travis Scott got into a heated argument during a Nike meeting, which was leaked online.

This argument was never supposed to see the light of day but was leaked, which certainly won’t make a lot of people happy. In the video, McEnroe and Scott can be seen and heard arguing over a collaboration between the two, which will see Scott redesign McEnroe’s Mac Attack signature shoe made by Nike.

In the Zoom meeting, Scott and McEnroe talked with Nike executives about the collaboration but they clearly had different ideas. McEnroe was upset that Scott showed a lack of respect in the discussions.

God d**n it, Travis. Jenny is right. Okay, let’s have a little bit of compromise here. Her suggestion for the Cactus Mac thing is just for one shoe instead of Cactus Jack.

Scott wasn’t really impressed with what the former tennis legend argued and his response further agitated McEnroe.

Scott: John, Cactus Mac was never a thing.

McEnroe: Show a little respect! This is my shoe.

Scott then explained his stance, noting his experience with the sneaker market and how young people think. It’s hard to argue against that point because he’s certainly more in tune with certain trends of the younger generation than a retired tennis player.

I’m not really feeling it. It feels a little off. It sounds like a burger or something. I’m not trying to take anything away from or disrespect you. Trust me, I know more about the knowledge of the shoe [game] than anybody.

Where we are right now, the young ones are the ones that are kind of pushing the needle for what is going on right now. You just have to trust me on this one.

In the end, the sides couldn’t agree, and McEnroe left the meeting after saying: “Forget it.” Both are yet to comment since the incident became public.
