Jon Rahm emerged victorious once again, claiming the title at the 2024 LIV Golf Chicago at Bolingbrook for the second time in three events.
Rahm’s recent performances have been impressive, with a first-second-first finish in his past three LIV Golf events. At Bolingbrook Golf Club near Chicago on Sunday, Rahm carded a 4-under 66 in the final round, finishing at 11 under for the week, three shots ahead of Joaquin Niemann and Sergio Garcia.
Aside from the $4 million prize for the victory, Rahm also secured the season-long individual championship and the $18 million prize. The battle for the individual championship came down to Niemann and Rahm, and the Spaniard triumphed in his first year with the LIV Golf League.
Rahm’s consistency throughout the year is evident, as he did not finish lower than T-10 in any of his 12 events. Niemann, who also tasted victory twice, posted a flawless 66 on Sunday, but Rahm’s exceptional play, including a crucial birdie on the par-3 17th hole, sealed the win.
In the team competition, Bryson DeChambeau’s Crushers GC secured victory and claimed the top seed for the upcoming LIV Golf Team Championship at Maridoe in Dallas. Crushers GC were the team champions last season at Doral in Miami. Rahm’s Legion XIII will be the second seed, with Cameron Smith’s Ripper GC earning the third seed and a bye in the opening round.
On the other hand, IronHeads GC ended up at the bottom of the team standings, making them the only team not participating in the competition next week.
