The official announcement of the soon-to-be new Manchester United player is expected imminently after it was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on Thursday that the move was at the “here we go” stage.

It has also been confirmed that United will pay Bologna €42.5 million, just above the striker’s release clause but they will pay the fee in three instalments rather than in one lump sum, which will help with United’s cashflow this summer window.

It has also been confirmed that medical tests took place yesterday and that the 23 year old has signed a deal until 2029 with the option of extending one year.

Zirkzee’s agency led by Kia Joorabchian have played a huge role in the Dutch striker ending up at Old Trafford.

He was originally on course to sign for AC Milan as the Italians were prepared to pay his release clause and had been given the Ok by the player.

Problems began to brew however when Milan refused to pay the €15 million commission fee that his agency were demanding from the San Siro club.

This paralysed any deal with the seven time European champions and allowed the Old Trafford side to swoop in and hijack the deal.

In addition, due to the good relationship between United’s owners and Joorabchian, Zirkzee’s agency only asked United for £8 million (€9.5 million), which they were happy to pay to secure the services of the exciting striker.

An official announcement of the player by the club is expected later on today or this weekend as according to numerous reliable reports all the i’s have been dotted and the t’s crossed on his switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
