Plenty of fans laughed when the Detroit Lions got Jared Goff in the Matthew Stafford trade.
Some Lions fans even gasped in disbelief.
Most analysts thought he was nothing but a stopgap while the team found another quarterback in the NFL Draft.
Clearly, that wasn’t the case.
Goff elevated his game as soon as he arrived in Michigan, and he’s now one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the game.
Even so, and despite taking the Lions to the NFC Championship Game last season, some still refuse to give him his flowers.
That’s why NFL analyst Joy Taylor claimed that he’s wildly unappreciated.
Talking on FOX Sports, she stated that it seemed like people made up their minds about him in his rookie season.

Granted, there were some struggles along the way, but he’s proven to be a winner with two different teams, yet people don’t celebrate him as much as they celebrate other quarterbacks who have accomplished fewer things than him.
Goff wasn’t the right fit for Sean McVay’s Los Angeles Rams, yet they still made it to the Super Bowl.
He was one half away from reaching the Super Bowl again, this time with a Lions team that had struggled for most of its history.
His game might not be as flashy as others, and his numbers don’t always pop out.
But Goff is an efficient and accurate quarterback who has proven that he can make big and timely plays, and it’s time people finally show him some respect.
