Judy Murray Upset Over Breach of Privacy in Leak of Medical Information

Murray's Mom Judy Fumes After 'Leaked Private Medical Details'

Andy Murray‘s mother, Judy Murray, criticized The Telegraph for revealing her son’s private medical information while also confirming that he has not been ruled out of competing at Wimbledon yet.

Following another recent injury setback, there have been developments concerning the British player’s chances of playing at Wimbledon. Murray has been plagued by numerous injuries in recent years, with his most recent match ending prematurely due to a back injury against Jordan Thompson at the Queen’s Club.

The back injury required surgical intervention, leading to Murray undergoing back surgery recently. This raised doubts about his participation in Wimbledon, given the usual recovery time of about four weeks for such procedures and only one week remaining until the tournament.

Although an ATP social media post initially confirmed his withdrawal, it was later taken down at Murray’s team’s request. Subsequently, his team expressed hope that Murray would still compete at Wimbledon despite the surgery.

The Telegraph’s report on the surgery details and his inability to play at the event sparked a response from his disgruntled mother on social media.

Judy Murray expressed her disappointment with the newspaper for disclosing her son’s confidential medical information, while clarifying that he has not been officially ruled out of Wimbledon yet.

“When your private medical details are leaked to the media by someone you thought you could trust. So disappointing. And – FYI – not ruled out yet.”

Murray had previously stated that this would be his final Wimbledon appearance, and missing the tournament, while expected given his condition, would be devastating for him. Despite the odds, there is a strong possibility that he will attempt to compete at SW19 to bid farewell to his fans in the UK.
