During his incredible playing career in the NFL with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, superstar quarterback Tom Brady received a lot of high praise for his preparation, even though he wasn’t the best athlete in terms of speed and athleticism like some of the superstars at the position in today’s game.

One teammate who saw that dedication to his craft and being prepared for anything that might happen on the gridiron on any given Sunday is wide receiver Julian Edelman, a three-time Super Bowl champion.

Edelman benefited more than most from catching passes from Brady throughout his NFL career with the Patriots and spent a lot of time with him during the offseason perfecting their craft while building chemistry and getting on the same page ahead of the regular season.

In a recent appearance on The Rush podcast with Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby, Edelman talked about what it was like being around Brady on a day-to-day basis.

“The one thing with Tom Brady is he always practiced with a purpose,” Edelman said. “It didn’t matter what time of year it was or who was around, he always went out with something he was trying to fix, or there was a purpose with why he was practicing. … He would go out there, and he’d try to simulate as much as he could the mindset you have to be in when you are playing in a game.”

With an NFL record seven Super Bowl titles to his credit, Brady was more prepared than any of his teammates and opponents on game day, which paid off.

Now that Brady is retired, the Patriots legend will try his luck as a broadcaster next season, where he’ll likely be just as prepared as he was as a player.
